The Canada-Jordan Free Trade Agreement (FTA) entered into force in 2012. It provides for import tariff elimination for a number of products, including:
Nickel oxides and hydroxides
Aluminum ores and concentrates
Waste and scrap of tinned iron or steel
Heat Pumps
Lithium oxide and hydroxide
Nickel oxides and hydroxides
Lithium carbonates
Motor cars and other motor vehicles
Photosensitive semiconductor devices, including photovoltaic cells whether or not assembled in modules or made up into panels; light emitting diodes
To qualify as originating from one of the signatory country, and thus for import tariff elimination, the share of externally source material in a manufactured product should not exceed 65% of its price.
