Provisions for design, construction, operation and maintenance of pipelines for transport of natural gas, ethane, and gas associated with coal. Methane-relevant sections include Part 10, which includes requirements to regularly inspect components and maintain them, and Appendix B, which outlines guidelines for monitoring, detection, and classification of leaks. This NOM is referenced in Mexico's comprehensive regulation for control of methane emissions. Some of the provisions are focused on safety and enable, encourage venting to avoid explosion.
