The Ministry of Energy of Mexico (SENER) and the National Commission on Energy Efficiency Use (CONUEE) in collaboration with the Autonomous University of Mexico State (UAEM) developed an online diploma training on energy efficiency for municipal services focused on local governments (World Bank also participated in the coordination of this project). The training was supported as part of the Energy Efficiency and Sustainability in Municipalities Programme (PRESEM).

The Diploma programme was launched in May 2018 and the first cohort was graduated on October 2018 (58 government officials from 21 different states).
