This standard establishes the minimum energy efficiency levels that pumping systems for deep well in operation must fulfill, for vertical pumps type turbine with external electric motor and submersible pumps in the power range of 5.5 - 261 kW (7.5 hp to 350 hp). See the attachment for the minimum levels of energy efficiency.

The standard NOM-006-ENER-2015 supersedes the standard NOM-006-ENER-1995. The 2015 version sets specific energy performance requirements for submersible pumps and specific levels for pumps with external electric motor.
