This standard specifies the standard conditions on which the ratings of single-package and split-system non-ducted air conditioners employing air- and water-cooled condensers and heat pumps employing air-cooled condensers are based, and the test methods to be applied for determination of the various ratings.

It was approved on Jun 20, 1996 and withdrawn on Dec 13, 2013, when it was superseded by the following version SANS 5151:2013.
