In 2015 India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy adopted new renewable energy target of 175 GW to be achieved by 2022. The majority of the targeted capacity is to come from solar PV – 100 GW, followed by 60 GW from wind and residue capacity split between biomass (10 GW) and small hydropower stations (5 GW).

Prior 2015, the solar PV capacity target for 2022 was 20 MW.

India established tentative state targets braked down by technology (to see those, please see above link). The regional technology targets are as follow
