Ecuador's Master Plan of Electrification, under the guidelines of the National Development Plan, optimizes the use of power generation resources taking advantage of the energy potential based in renewable sources, encourages efficient use and energy saving, providing a service with the highest coverage, quality, and safety.

The plan defines the extension of generation, transmission, and distribution within the national interconnected system and Galapagos of Ecuadorian electric sector, for 10 years (2016-2025).
