The Act on biocomponents and liquid biofuels of 25 August 2006 stipulates the rules for the economic activity in the production of biocomponents and the marketing of biocomponents and liquid biofuels.

Main provisions of the Act :

Regulates the terms and conditions for manufacturers of biocomponents and producers of biofuels (the activity requires the registration by the Agricultural Market Agency);

Grants authorization for regulations issueing and their implementation (including quality control checks of biofuels placed on the market);

Introduces National Indicative Target (NIT);

Implements the Directive 2009/29/EC on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources .
