The National Innovation Challenge (NIC) is a nationwide innovation initiative in Singapore designed to fast-track solutions involving startups, SMEs, corporates, research institutions, industrial groups, and government agencies. This challenge aims to encourage the development of innovative and cost-competitive energy solutions for deployment within 20 years to help Singapore improve energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and increase energy options. Challenge owners can tap into a diverse pool of solvers with cross-industry expertise. Solution providers will receive support and funding to develop innovative solutions. A total of SGD 40 million has been allocated to the NIC.
