India has allocated INR 2 billion (USD 24 million) for FY2025–2026 to support innovative renewable hydrogen projects. The program focuses on three key objectives: promoting novel hydrogen production methods such as floating solar, biomass, and wastewater-based systems; encouraging hydrogen use in decentralized applications like cooking, heating, off-grid electricity, and off-road vehicles; and validating the technical feasibility of hydrogen as a fuel for residential and commercial appliances. Funding will be disbursed primarily based on project milestones to ensure performance and accountability.
