The country targets 100% fossil-free electricity production by 2040, relying on a mix of renewables and nuclear energy.

The strategy focuses on expanding wind and solar power, electrifying transport and industry, enhancing energy efficiency, and modernizing the power grid. Sweden also advances carbon capture and storage (CCS), encourages regional energy cooperation, and fosters innovation in clean technologies.
