The National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA), as part of Argentina's government agency, is carrying out technological developments in the nuclear area, as well as assuring availability, reliability, and safety in the performance of nuclear activities. The agency has been funded for nuclear research, including the development of CAREM-25, a small modular reactor, and fourth-generation nuclear reactors. These technological developments also contribute to other fields, such as space and robotics.
