The Global System of Trade Preferences (GSTP) among Developing Countries establishes tariff concessions among its 42 Parties. It establishes preferential tariffs for energy products, including:

Electric motor parts;

Air conditioning appliances;

Cathodes and cathode sections;

Refined copper and copper alloys;

Cobalt mattes and other intermediate products of cobalt's metallurgy;

Ferrous waste and scrap;

Rule of origins apply to qualify for the preferential tariff treatment, notably establishing that:

products should be wholly produced or obtained in the exporting participant to the GSTP;

products should not incorporate non-originating materials valued above 50% of the Free on Board (FOB) value of the final product
