This Programme aims at reducing electricity consumption in buildings at the federal, state, and municipal levels. Conservation is promoted by disseminating efficient technologies in areas including lighting and HVAC systems. Initially, various energy analyses are completed to identify areas where demand reduction is possible. These analyses are followed by small pilot projects which have potential for replication on a large scale. Supplementary activities include education programmes and outreach, training, and cross-sectoral partnerships. Goals of Procel EPP:Reduce energy consumptionTrain Public building managers to reduce demandImplement demonstration projects in public buildings and record, measure, verify and share the resultsTrain the laboratories of Public Universities to complete further projectsPROCEL EPP also collaborates with the Ministry of Mines and Energy in the regulatory activities relating to the segment of public buildings.Currently under development:Registration of Public Buildings and their managersEnergy Efficiency ProjectsProject Analysis and Stock PricesCompleted projects:Implement monitoring, maintenance and updating of public buildingsBuilding on the information of the register to set savings goals for short- and medium-term,Monitoring, verification and registration of the savings and technical support to managers of public buildings in the implementation and monitoring of projects
