Starting from August 2023, the Chinese government implemented controls on the following commodity exports: metal gallium, Gallium nitride, Gallium oxide, Gallium phosphide, Gallium arsenide, Gallium antimonide, Metal germanium, Area melted germanium ingots, Phosphorus, germanium and zinc, Germanium epitaxial growth substrate, Germanium dioxide, and Germanium tetrachloride.

Exporters need to go through a licensing process.
