The Buildings and Dwellings Register Act (AGWR), based on the EU Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings, acts as a collection and administration of data regarding the minimum performance of buildings and the performance certificates in Austria. In addition, the AGWR provides support in the area of energy efficiency by providing a centralised data basis for monitoring and analyses (e.g. as part of national energy and climate policy). It thus makes an important contribution to transparency and evidence-based political decision-making.
