The Free Trade Agreement between Viet Nam and the European Union entered into force in August 2020. It provides for the elimination of border tariffs on most goods exchanged between the Parties, including:
Mineral oils and fuels
Rare earths metal
Ores and their concentrate (iron, copper, nickel, aluminium, zin, and tin)
Road vehicles
Rules of origin delineated in the Agreement state that products wholly obtained or having undergone sufficient processing in one of the Paryies qualify for preferential tariff treatment.
