The China – Singapore Free Trade Agreement (CSFTA) provides for the elimination of tariffs for 95% of the products traded between the two countries.
From the Chinese side:
The import tariff for All Terrain Vehicles and other parts and accessories not elsewhere specified for trucks was eliminated in 2010
Heat pumps (with the exception of air conditioning machines of heading no. 8415) are exempted from import tariffs
Rules of origin apply. Goods are counted as originating from each country and thus benefitting from preferential tariff treatment if
wholly produced or obtained in the country
having a regional value content (RVC) over a specific requirement (for instance, 40% for ores, iron & steel, fuels, machinery, and semiconductors)
meeting specific standards as defined in the Agreement which mainly cover changes in HS codes
The Agreement was upgraded in July 2011, November 2018, and December 2023. In the 2023 Protocol, Singapore has notably committed not to impose trade restriction on most manufacturing sector products from China. China has also committed to reduce trade restrictions on manufacturing sector products from Singapore.
