To meet Chinese Taipei's 2050 net-zero commitment, the government enacted a 2050 net-zero strategy in 2022.

The Strategy has four main transformation pillars (energy, industry, people and society) and 12 strategic areas- namely wind power/ solar photovoltaic energy, hydrogen energy, alternative energy e.g. geothermal and tidal, power systems and energy storage, energy efficiency, carbon capture, electric vehicles, zero waste recycling, natural carbon sinks, green living, green economy and just transition.
