The Australian government announced the Small Business Energy Incentive which will provide a 20% tax credit for small business expenditures aimed at reducing energy use and electrification.
Small businesses with annual turnover less than AUD 50 million are eligible for this program. The maximum expenditure covered by this program per business is AUD 100,000, with a maximum tax credit of AUD 20,000 (20%). Overall budget allocated to the program is AUD 310 million.
Examples provided by the Australian government for eligible investments include:
electrification of heating and cooling systems
upgrades to cooking appliances such as refrigerators and cooktops
batteries and heat-pump installation
