The Exemplary Energy and Climate Initiative (EECI) is an Energy Strategy 2050 measure aiming at Switzerland’s most important public service providers. The Civil Federal Administration, the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport (DDPS) and 13 other participants in EECI launched the second phase of the EECI and announced their commitment to improve energy efficiency and expand renewable energies by 2030.

In addition, the initiative is expected to contribute to implementing the Energy Strategy 2050 and achieving the net zero climate target by 2050. Compared to the first phase which was from 2013 to 2020, the climate-compatible financing will be newly introduced for the new 2021 to 2030 phase.
