The Australian Government legislated the offshore infrastructure bill to unlock new investment in offshore electricity generation and transmission projects. The offshore electricity infrastructure bill 2021 establishes a framework for the construction, operation, maintenance and decommissioning of offshore electricity projects. In particular, the bill will help progress for projects including “Marinus Link” transmission line, “Star of the South” offshore Victoria, and “Sun Cable” in the Northern Territory.
