As part of its national submission to the EU for its proposal of the Austrian Recovery & Resilience Plan, the Austrian government included in its Pillar 1 "Sustainable Construction", a different policies for the development of a circular economy.

This initiative includes the following investments:

- Biodiversity fund (EUR 80 million)

- Investments in return systems and measures to increase the reusable rate for beverage containers (EUR 110 million)

- Construction and retrofitting of sorting systems (EUR 60 million)

- Funding for the repair of electrical and electronic equipment (EUR 130 million)
