The Green Conversion of Industry is a part of the 6 pillar climate action plan in May 2020 focusing on green energy and energy efficiency improvements in industry. From 2020 to 2024, the government is investing DKK 900 million towards industrial energy efficiency and electrification projects. This DKK 900 million consists of DKK 100 million in grants in 2020 and DKK 200 million a year from 2021 to 2024. Alongside this funding, the government will invest DKK 95 million in 2024 increasing to DKK 230 million a year in 2025 into biogas and green gas technologies required in industry where electrification and renewable electricity cannot be used. These policies are expected to reduce 0.3 million tonnes of CO2 by 2030.
