This Malta innovation plan outlines missions for green and digital transitions, indentifying five mains working areas: R&I governance and priority-setting, Local ecosystem development, Mission and RIS3-oriented innovation, R&I in public policy and R&I Implmentation structures. Energy technology and mobility are identified as a key area for R&I (other areas are health, environment and agriculture), to reach the Malta's goals in term of energy security, and green energy sources resilience. The importance of the Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Enterprise and its National Strategy for Research and Innovation in Energy and Water in this mission has been recognised.
