This Business Finland mission aims to significantly reduce Finland's carbon footprint worldwide, though innovation and international goals (finish companies international growth and connection to global value chains) that will influence Business Finland's action plans. The mission focuses on three key area for energy transition: industry, transport and built environment. It focuses on creating sustainable energy systems in industries, with Finland leading in hydrogen and battery technologies, and fostering zero-carbon industries. In transport, the mission develops technologies like electrification and digitalization to decarbonize various transportation modes. For urban areas, it involves partnering with cities to test energy solutions, securing EU funding, and exporting successful models. The mission emphasizes collaboration, funding, and scaling innovations to promote global sustainability. This pilot programme on the Zero Carbon Future became one of its five missions in 2023. The goal is to channel about 50% of its roughly USD 800 million annual R&D funding to these five areas.
