The New Growth Acceleration Program (Novo PAC) aims to expand geological knowledge in areas promising for strategic minerals production, which are crucial for energy transition and Brazilian food security. One of the key highlights of the program is the auction of mining assets, which is expected to strengthen the agribusiness production chain. Additionally, significant investments are being made in geological mapping, geochemical, and aerogeophysical surveys, totaling BRL 61 million. These surveys, maps, and studies will be freely accessible at the Institutional Geosciences Repository of the Geological Survey of Brazil (RIGeo/SGB/CPRM).

The Safe and Sustainable Mining Program of the 2024-2027 Multiannual Plan aligns with the goals of the Mineral Research Subaxis of the Novo PAC, optimising budgetary resources for priority projects. The total investment for the program amounts to BRL  306.7 million, with BRL 280.7 million allocated from 2023 to 2026 and BRL 26.0 million post-2026. The investment is divided into two main modalities: exploration and evaluation projects, which receive BRL  38.7 million, and public surveys, including geophysical and geological surveys, which receive BRL  268.1 million.
