The Strategic Action Plan on Batteries (Annex to the Communication of the Commission of 17 May 2018 on ‘Europe on the move – Sustainable Mobility for Europe: safe, connected and clean’) is part of the European Commission’s broader initiative to create a sustainable and competitive battery value chain in Europe. The Action Plan provides context and justification for the Batteries Regulation under paragraph 7 of the whereas clauses.
