The Canada Greener Homes Affordability Program (CGHAP), first announced in Budget 2024 and launched as part of the Canada Green Buildings Strategy, is an $800M, five-year programme that will fund the direct installation of home energy retrofits at no cost to low-to-median-income Canadian (homeowners and tenants). Managed and delivered through partners in provinces and territories, the program will be tailored to the unique context of the jurisdiction and will reduce monthly energy bills for participants, while decreasing energy use and/or GHG emissions.
