The Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (Quad) aims to intensify cooperation between partner countries - Australia, India, Japan and the United States - in tackling urgent problems in the Indo-Pacific region, including climate . Under the Clean Energy Supply Chains pillar of the initiative, the countries intend to expand manufacturing, increase demand and enable commercial-scale production capabilities for critical devices, components, and systems. Beyond diversifying supply chains (including for critical minerals), the countries have pledged to support clean workforce needs, explore inter-operability of technical standards and policies, promote co-operation in environment, social and governance (ESG) standards, encourage public and private investment in research and development, and incentivise companies to proliferate decarbonisation solutions.
