| Federal and State programme to support thermal renovation of buildings (renovation bonus), and upgrade heating boilers in low-income households. The Climate Protection Ministry (BMK) subsidized the replacement of inefficient fossil-fuelled oil or gas heating system. From 2022 to 2024, about 6,200 fossil fuel boilers of low-income-households had been abolished and funded by a national budget of about 140 million euros. The funding was continued in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Climate and Environmental Protection, Regions and Water Management (BMLUK) in 2025. In 2025 3.557 fossile fuel boilers of low-income-households had been abolished.
