BNDES created a specific loan program with incentivized conditions for supporting the development of carbon reduction projects under Renovabio Policy.

It offers direct support through ASG (Environmental, Social and Governance) credit for the biofuels sector under the RenovaBio Policy, with incentive to improve energy and environmental efficiency and production certification.

Companies with their head office and administration in Brazil which are already certified under the RenovaBio Policy can request credit from BNDES RenovaBio. Those that reach the CO2 emission reduction targets stipulated by the program during the loan repayment period will have a reduction in their interest rate. Larger discounts on interest rates will be issue to more carbon efficient projects.

Companies must apply before 31st December 2022

The budget for the program is R$ 1 billion.

The maximum value of each loan will be R $ 100 million per production unit,  considering the limit per economic group of R$ 200 million. The total payment term will be up to 96 months, including a grace period of up to 24 months.

In may 2022, the BNDES increased by R $ 1 billion the available resources of BNDES RenovaBio, totaling an allocation of R $ 2 billion by the end of 2022.
