Riyadh — An attempt to smuggle 3.9 million amphetamine pills has been foiled, thanks to the security cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Lebanon. Saudi Ministry of Interior security spokesperson Brig. Gen. Talal bin Abdul Mohsen bin Shalhoub said that information provided by the ministry's General Directorate of Narcotics Control to its counterpart in Lebanon has contributed to foiling the attempt. This was part of proactive security efforts targeting criminal drug-smuggling networks.The spokesperson praised the ongoing cooperation with the Lebanese authorities in tracking and seizing narcotics, stressing that it reflects the high level of security coordination between the two countries in combating cross-border criminal networks.He affirmed that Saudi Arabia continues to monitor criminal activities that target its security and youth with drugs, confront them, thwart their plans, and arrest those involved, to protect societies from the scourge of drugs.
