Establishes the state Environment Protection Authority which administers the Act. It outlines a general environmental duty of persons involved in projects that are likely to cause environmental harm or pollution of the environment. The Act operates in conjunction with the Land Use and Planning Act, in which petroleum projects are classes as a level 2 activity that requires the consideration of the Board. The Board may serve notice on an operator for an inspection of such facilities and reporting is mandatory. If the conditions of the permit are not met, the Board may take an action to properly enforce the permit. Supports the Climate Change (State Action) Act.
