The Energy Efficient Communities Program will deliver $40 million of grants to help businesses and community groups lower their energy bills and reduce emissions.

Funding is supporting community groups to save energy through:

• equipment upgrades that reduce energy consumption, including energy generation and storage projects

• completion of energy audits to identify savings opportunities.

Grant applications for community groups opened in early 2020 and funding is now being delivered.

The programme has been renewed in 2022 to tackle the energy price crisis.

US Crude Oil Inventories Continue To Falter, SPR Struggling To Pick Up the Slack

The American Petroleum Institute (API) estimated that crude oil inventories in the United States fell by 765,000 barrels in the week ending June 19. In the week prior, US crude oil inventories fell by 8.33 million barrels.
