The objective of the programme is to increase the sustainable use of energy in Malawi while providing greater energy access to the people without it. There is a strong focus on renewable energy resources in order to  provide viable and sustainable contributions to the country's energy mix. The programme is implemented by various institutions in the country and promotes the use of RE technologies.
