The National Environment Agency (NEA) carries out joint research projects that are of interest and relevance to the NEA with tertiary institutions such as National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University (under the Memoranda of Understanding), as well as other tertiary institutions. Costs and incomes accruing from the programme, if any, are shared between the NEA and the universities. If the product/process developed from a project has any commercialisation potential, the product/process may be patented and/or marketed.
