The decision approves Vietnam’s industrial development strategy through 2025, with a vision to 2035, providing a framework for modernising and restructuring the industrial sector. It prioritises key industries including manufacturing, mechanical engineering, chemicals, electronics, and energy (including renewable energy technologies), and promotes technological upgrading, value chain integration, and sustainable development. The strategy targets increasing the share of processing and manufacturing industries to over 70% of total industrial output by 2025, while strengthening competitiveness and industrial diversification.
