Article L821-2 of the French Energy Code specifies that renewable or low-carbon hydrogen, if not mixed with other types of hydrogen or gases from production to consumption, and if its guarantee is transferred with the hydrogen, is certified with a "guarantee of traceability" to ensure its physical tracking. The goal is to ensure the integrity and traceability of hydrogen, supporting France's broader objectives of increasing renewable and low-carbon hydrogen production to meet decarbonization targets.
