The United Arab Emirates maintains restricts the importation and exportation of certain energy related products. The following goods require official pre-approval before being imported or exported:

Air-conditioning machines and equipment, cooling or deep-freezing machines and equipment, weighing and standardization equipment, propelling, piling, loading or unloading machines and equipment (such as elevators, escalators, conveyor belts, cable-transporters (telefric) and water heaters.)

Diesel, fuel

Vehicles

Radio chemical elements and radioisotopes

Electric transformers which capacity exceeds 500 KVA

Thermal alternators

Nuclear reactors, boilers, automatic tools and equipment with their spare parts
