The Lao government is undertaking wind power projects in the following locations:

In Sepon district, Savannakhet province, the government is collaborating with Savan Vayu Renewable Energy Co., Ltd. (SVARE) to develop a 1,200 MW wind power plant project. The estimated investment for this project is approximately 2 billion USD.

In Dakcheung district, Xekong province, Laos has installed the first turbine of a 600 MW wind power project. The estimated investment for this project is around 900 million USD.
