Through the national strategy for sustainable construction steming from a political agreement in 2021, climate requirements have been introduced in the building regulations to reduce CO2 emissions from construction of new buildings from January 2023.

The national strategy covers overall 21 initiatives, including renovation, energy efficiency targets and subsidy schemes up to 2030.
