In September 2021, the Bangladesh government revoked a regulatory order which was passed in the July 2021 budget, which removed the then 11% import duty and tax cost on inverters. Upon the revoke of the regulatory order, the levy on inverters was restored to its previous 37% rate (as per 'important capital machinery' classification).
