The Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission instated the Nuclear Safety and Radiation Controls in 1997 which specified certain non-tariff measures on the imports of nuclear reactors and their fuel elements for peaceful purposes. The control measures pertain to goods defined in HS Code 8401, and describe the requirement to apply safety standards for equipment, facilities, trained personnel and good engineering practices.
