In 2022, the Romanian government earmarked targeted affordability support for SMEs impacted by the global energy crisis:

Fuel subsidy of RON 0.50/litre for transport and distribution companies affected by the increase in fuel prices.

Support up to EUR 400,000 per SMEs with expenses of more than 15% on utilities.

Additional funds, to be provided to SMEs in the form of State guarantees and grants, were earmarked in 2024.
