In response to the global energy crisis, the Portuguese government enacted a 7% electricity VAT reduction (from 13% to 6%), for electricity consumption levels up to 100 kWh/month (or 150 kWh in large families) from October 2022 until end 2023.

The reduction is applicable to consumers with contractual arrangements under 6,9 kVA.
