In August 2022, the Italian government added EUR 500 million to the Fund for development and cohesion (FSC 2021-2027), bringing the total fund to EUR 2 billion. This will finance investments which help decrease direct GHG emissions through electrification, the use of renewable hydrogen instead of fossil fuels, and the reduction of energy consumption. These projects are divided for 80% in Southern Italy and 20% in the Centre and North of Italy.
