Among the objectives of the Italian National Recovery and Resilience plan, one aims for a "green revolution and ecological transition", part of the investments being allocated to energy efficiency measures and building renovations.

This component includes a total of EUR 15.36 billion for energy efficiency measures, financing:

- energy efficiency improvements of school buildings (EUR 0.8 million)

- energy efficiency improvements of judiciary buildings

- energy efficiency improvements and seismic renovation of public and private residential buildings through the  extension of the 110% fiscal bonus up to 2023

- district heating (EUR 0.2 billion)
