The European Commission (EC), under its EU State aid rules, approved a EUR 400 million aid for Denmark to develop its electricy production from renewable sources, and will be awarded through a competitive bidding process, organized until 2024.

Denmark intends to meet its renewable energy targets with renewable energy generation sources such as onshore  &  offshore wind turbines, hydroelectric and wave power plants, and solar PV.
