The national environmental subsidy scheme (UFI) finances measures of enterprises and municipalities. Funding is available for energy efficiency measures - for example heat recovery or building insulation. Furthermore the renewal of production facilities receives subsidies if a significant energy reduction can be achieved.

Subsidies are also available for renewable energy (mainly heat), for example biomass district heating plants. Besides these measures against climate change, the environmental fund also finances resource efficiency measures, air-protection and reduction and removal of hazardous waste.
